Welcome to the PG Department of Psychology at SMSTM ARTS AND SCIENCE WOMENS COLLEGE ATHAVANAD. Our department is dedicated to exploring the complexities of human behavior and mental processes through rigorous research, comprehensive education, and community engagement.
At SMSTM College, studying psychology is a part of a rich and illustrious history.In 2016, the first psychology UG course was taught, psychology department was established. The first psychology master’s degree was given out in 2020. Approximately 60 master’s degrees and 210 under graduates have been awarded since then. Graduates of the department study and work in prestigious research, teaching, and professional capacities across the country.

Our department offer FYUG programme a more in-depth exploration of English literature and language over four years. Students will delve deeper into their major with advanced coursework. The FYUGP also allows you to choose two minor subjects to complement your English major, opening doors to explore other areas of interest alongside your English studies. With a variety of minor options available, you can personalize your degree to fit your academic goals.

The SED-TALKs (SMSTM English Department-TALKs) is a competitive presentation or lecture designed for student community for sharing their ideas, research, or experiences on a specific topic, dedicated to spread innovative and inspiring ideas.
ENGLING is a community outreach program to make mingle our students with the local community through English language education. This mutually beneficial initiative offers our students valuable communication experience, while providing local residents and school children with a unique opportunity to develop their English language skills. By learning together, we build bridges and foster a stronger, more inclusive community.

LITLove festival aims to unify and inspire aspects of literature, by providing a free space to indulge in literary thoughts, discussions, theatrical presentations, screening, recitation and reading of texts to create an enriching experience for Literature Lovers.
